I currently live in Wilson, NC, with my husband, Patrick, and children, Abigail, Elijah, and Enoch. My life has been quite an unexpected journey. Sometimes it is smooth; other times so rough I'm not sure I'll survive. On this journey, God has been faithfully teaching me that He is enough. It is my desire, to help other women embrace the path to which God has called them so that they may grow in Him.
I was blessed to learn of Christ from a young age and grew up in a "Christian Bubble". College was not like what I had always known. There were people with differing beliefs, even among other Christians. I began to understand what I believed and why. I was married the summer before my senior year of college, and, after finishing my B.S. in Childhood Education, we moved to Louisville, KY. Though I loved teaching, I longed for a child of my own. After several years, I was blessed with my sweet Abigail. I left teaching to be a full-time wife, mommy, and keeper of my home. I had reached the epitome of all I ever wanted. My "picture-perfect life" was finally realized.
Then my world came crashing down. I learned of my husband's multiple affairs. I quickly learned that it takes two to keep a marriage going. He filed for divorce, and there was nothing I could do to stop it. I was devastated, broken, and unsure of how to provide for my baby girl. My parents came to help. I decided to move in with them until I was "back on my feet." We headed back to Western New York for several years, where God provided a job and an opportunity to finish my M.S. in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. By the summer of 2015, God was moving me on.
Go, and later you'll find out where you're going. That is so scary! I felt the Lord was "pushing me out of the nest." The week before school started, I was hired to teach at a school in North Carolina. I would truly be on my own, as my closest relative, my brother, lived over an hour away! I was able to find a job teaching middle school and eventually coaching soccer. I loved living in North Carolina, and this is where I met my husband, Patrick! We got to know each other through a game night with mutual friends, and we attended the same church.
We were married on April 22, 2019, and faced many challenges within the first year, including multiple health issues. January 2020 brought us Elijah, full of energy and inquisitiveness. Enoch came along in December 2022, surprising us with a rare diagnosis of Prader-Willi Syndrome. (We also started a non-profit in 2022 - CLT.) In March 2025, we found out we were expecting again, and, in April 2025, Elliott went to be with Jesus. This has been an abundant life of ups and downs! Here's hoping I can use my experiences and sanctification to better help you grow in Christ as well!
